14 imagesThese photos were shot in a wilderness dreamscape, Mana Pools National Park in Zimbabwe. We went to Zimbabwe for many reasons, but the number one reason was to see wild dogs, in the wild. Mana Pools is a huge wilderness area, unfenced (similar to a national park in the U.S.), and is famous for allowing walking safaris. With the help of some world-class guides, we found a pack of dogs. More action-packed information can be found on the M@P/ PHOTOgraphic blog (click on Blog on the homepage), detailing our experience. The African wild dog, also called painted dog, is an amazing predator only found in Africa. Living and hunting in packs has allowed the wild dog to thrive and evolve over millions of years. In recent times, they are generally viewed as vermin and a danger to livestock, and so are now endangered. A large conservation effort is under way by the Painted Dog Conservation project in Zimbabwe, with a very impressive facility at Hwange. For more information, see http://www.painteddog.org/ *50% of the proceeds of all photos of wild dogs will go to the Painted Dog Conservation project in Zimbabwe, which protects, rehabilitates and reintroduce wild dogs in the wild. See "50% Charity Pledge" on our homepage for more infomation, and thanks for supporting wild dogs.

54 imagesThe most iconic of African animals, wild elephants are a supreme wonder to spend time with. The family and social behavior is fascinating, as is their enormous size and ninja-like stealth movements. Unfortunately, in 2012 the price of ivory , which is the tusk of the elephant, reached unsustainably high levels and the future of these truly majestic beasts is now very uncertain. A recent finding, published in the New York Times, indicated 60% of wild forest elephants in Africa have been lost BETWEEN 2002 and 2012. This is an animal that has been around for millions of years! Immediate action is required. *100 % of the proceeds of all sales of photos with elephants as the subject will go to charity organizations that fight to end illegal poaching. Please click on "50% Charity Pledge" on the homepage for more information* Thanks for helping elephants!

19 imagesArchitecture can be bold and breathtakingly beautiful by design, one of the best creations man can offer the world. But some works…really most, can be mundane and ordinary until seen in a certain light, time of day or even mood. Then the ordinary can become extraordinary.

23 imagesThe astounding migration of sandhill cranes is not just for bird nerds. Hundreds of thousands of these giant cranes darken the daytime sky in the vacinity of central Nebraska during late winter/early spring. This has been happening for millions of years! This was a blast of a photo shoot, with interesting locals, good beer (Hamm's!) and challenging (COLD) conditions. *50% of the profit from all images will be donated to the National Audobon Society Rowe Sanctuary. The sanctuary is dedicated to the conservation of sandhill cranes, whooping cranes and other migratory birds, and their habitat along the Platte River in south central Nebraska. 18 imagesStreetlife of Bogotá, electric city at the foot of the Andés mountains. The 8,500 foot elevation may add to the heady feeling, but the city intoxicates with food, architecture, streetlife and romance (couples are kissing everywhere).

23 imagesA country closed off from the rest of the world for decades…until now. Burma is where we personally saw the most smiles anywhere in the world, despite people having a difficult life. It's hard to describe the scenes of Burma without sounding too gushing, but take a look at the photos. A beautiful place.

5 imagesAn otherworldly dreamscape, almost disorienting: Namibia. Dunes, dirt roads that go on for hours, desert elephants, thousand-year old plants, dung beatles, German bakers in the middle of nowhere, sandboarding, the Southern Atlantic Ocean, African women dressed like Little House on the Prairie, seals by the thousands, the world's largest cheetah population. A life-changing place. 50% of the proceeds from all Namibia photos will go to a charity that preserves the varied landscapes of Namibia, and the people who rely on them.
