  • This buffalo is part of the herd that we observed being attacked by a pride of lion at Mana Pools , Zimbabwe. *50% of the proceeds from sales of these photos taken at Mana Pools National Park in Zimbabwe will go to The Zambezi Society, a charity that supports the Zambezi Valley, which includes Mana Pools.  In 1982, this volunteer organization successfully lobbied against the proposed Mupata Gorge dam site on the Zambezi River, which would have flooded what is now Mana Pools National Park, making  the wildlife scenes in these photographs impossible.   • This is the herd of buffalo that tried to save one of their own, who had been taken down by a pride of lion. Here, they admitted defeat and immediately after this was shot, retreated. *50% of the proceeds from sales of these photos taken at Mana Pools National Park in Zimbabwe will go to The Zambezi Society, a chartiy that supports the Zambezi Valley, which includes Mana Pools.  In 1982, this volunteer organization successfully lobbied against the proposed Mupata Gorge dam site on the Zambezi River, which would have flooded what is now Mana Pools National Park, making  the wildlife scenes in these photographs impossible.
